Top Gun Technology does not provide break-fix maintenance support directly to end users in data centers. However, it does provide all the needed support directly to third-party maintainers throughout the world for IBM zSeries products, IBM pSeries products, IBM tape/disk/VTS products and IBM connectivity products. Our technical expertise is available to support the following IBM platforms:

  • IBM zSeries mainframes (IBM z9, z890, z990, z800, z900, 9672, 7060 and 2003 mainframe platforms)
  • IBM pSeries and distributed (IBM pSeries and RS/6000)
  • IBM Storage Products (all IBM disk, tape and VTS products)
  • IBM Connectivity Products (ESCON/FICON, IBM 9032, 9033 and 9034)
  • IBM Terminal Controller Products (IBM 2074, 3172 and 3174)

Our support program is designed as a complete package to help third-party maintainers offer a reliable maintenance solution for large-platform clients. We do not offer any individual component of our program for sale – it is always a package. Our support program always includes:

Technical Support

Your break/fix technical engineers will have access to “Top Gun”-level and senior-level engineers that have seen and resolved more hardware issues than any CE from the manufacturer. Whether it’s during the escalation process or as a follow-up to our training program, we have a 24/7/365 Call Center available to assist with any assistance your technical engineers may require.

Remote Enterprise Monitoring

We’ve developed our own call-home feature that alerts our call center to any hardware errors, drilling down to the FRU level. Alerts from our Remote Enterprise Monitoring give serial number, location, part number and error code.

Critical Back-up Parts

We purchase and inventory all necessary critical back-up parts for our third-party maintainer clients. Additionally, parts can be managed within our clients’ remote service centers around the country. Our clients are able to pass the burden of the parts costs and parts management over to Top Gun Technology, which benefits their end-user clients.

Maintenance Training

We offer IBM zSeries mainframe, pSeries server, IBM tape/disk/VTS and connectivity break/fix maintenance training at our training school in Prior Lake, Minnesota. Our program is a “hands-on” focused program with some classroom training. We also send each student home with helpful resource materials.
