Support Overview

Top Gun Technology offers a software support service to help users of zSeries hardware to keep their operating system software current with the manufacturer so as to maintain support from that manufacturer. Even beyond staff augmentation or the timely completion of objectives, think of our software support service as an affordable insurance policy that ensures your systems always run smoothly. We charge a fixed, annual/monthly fee to:

  1. Remotely upgrade the OS to a currently supported version OR apply PTFs (program temporary fixes) to bring the system more current
  2. Remotely upgrade any one of the subsystems: CICS, DB2, IMS, TSM, MQSeries or Websphere
  3. On-site support for up to three, five-day (eight hours per day) visits to:
    1. Install or upgrade ISV software
    2. Install or upgrade IBM software
    3. Provide performance tuning (WLM, Workload Manager, review)
    4. Provide debugging and problem resolution
    5. Provide tape/disk usage review and recommendations
    6. Provide any other system programming assistance needed

Knowledge Transfer

All our software support services for system z include a proper transfer of knowledge meeting with the client at the conclusion of each project or service. Our clients have appreciated this value-add service.

Although this support service is designed as a packaged, professional service, Top Gun Technology will customize this offering upon a client’s request. Please note: Our pricing structure is based upon the MIPS level of your largest processor, not the total number of MIPS or the volume of CPUs you own or operate.
